Where are Mandera county elected officials?
For the past 3
months, people have been killed and many more
were injured. Also, the county transportations
have been crippled. The inter-county commerce is
at a standstill due to fear of being ambushed
and killed by Degodia and Al Shababa terrorist
operating in the NEP of Kenya.
As reported on May 11, 2013, a
contingent of Kenyan “Army troops and police
reinforcements have been sent to Mandera County
to disarm local and foreign groups terrorising
residents following a high-level meeting in
Nairobi” per Mandera County governor’s request.
Since then, many more lives have been lost, and
dozens of innocent people were injured on their
watch. It appears that they are colluding with
the terrorists and they have done nothing to
help. In fact, people they sent to help have
become part of the problems. Also, the governor
who requested the deployment of those armies and
police forces is nowhere to be found.
While all these crimes are going
on and happening around Mandera County, all
elected officials including members of
Parliament, Senators, Councilors and council of
elders were enjoying themselves in Nairobi,
Kenya unconcerned about atrocities going on in
their constituencies. 6 people were killed, 3
injured, and a vehicle was destroyed at Qoqaye.
However, those elected officials haven’t even
sent condolences to the victims’ families. Also,
4 people were killed and four more injured at
Burmayo. Again, nothing has been heard from
them.
So,
where
are they? Why are they become silent?
