There will be no preferential seat for Degody.

On August 15, 2007, the Kenyan Parliaments have squashed a Government-sponsored Bill seeking to create 40 new constituencies and 50 nominated seats for women in Parliament. Although the government has good intentions to create new constituencies and slots for women nominated position in parliament, it has a fraudulent clause in it that led to its defeat today.

The bill includes the creation of a new constituency for Degody in the heart of the Gharri Land without consulting the Gharri people or its elected leaders. Fore example, if it passed, the bill would have given chuncks of  Gharri land to the Degody under the premise of Mandera North. But, thanks good it did not happened. So, there will be no land for sale. Not Gharri land. The Gharri people have awaken to claim their ancestral land.

So, Degody, you must foreget to grab our land but instead, go seek somewhere else, may be Wajer west or Filtu.  Thanks to the current Gharri leaders for their relentless efforts and struggle in stopping this fraudulent land-grabbing bill.

As people and their herds increased in numbers annually, the workable land space decreases by the same rate. Therefore, Gharri land is not for sale to the highest bidder, but, it is to be preserved for the next generation of the Gharri people to come. It is a sweet victory for the Gharri people and let us translates this victory on election day in the form of thanks to our current elected MPS and re-elect them for the second terms

Victory to the Gharri people and all our enemies shall be defeated.
