Response to The BBC's Elizabeth Blunt's fictious reports and OPDO's PROPAGANDA regarding their failed hostile take over of the Gharri land in February 2009.

After reviewing  reports made by  The BBC reporter Elizabeth Blunt from Addis Ababa, in regard to Diid Boji Kalaf between the Gharri and the OPDO's militias.  we noticed some disturbing trends- that the BBC NEWS correspondent Ms. Elizabeth Blunt is either suffering from predilection for fiction, selective memory and or she is bought by the OPDO to omit factual events. Ms. Blunt has been engaging in the most vicious lies and  one-sided false reports.

According to a report made by Ms. Elizabeth Blunt herself dated February 26, 2009 BBNEWS/Africa posted the follows: "The BBC's Elizabeth Blunt says 300 people may have been killed on 5 February and more than 100,000 displaced.

Ethiopia's Minister of State Responsible for Emergency and Disaster Planning Mitiku Kassa acknowledged the existence of the problem but said the figure of 100,000 was an exaggeration." So, why the BBC webmaster did not correct the false report, if it was prooved to be false or inaccurate?

Also, why didnt she asked questions about what village or villages did these people flee from and when did the raids take place? and why didn't she interview members of those raiders she loves to hate?

She failed to report on the Oromo militias raid on the Gharri towns of Hudet, El Laeh, El Gof and Amiko. But, has been droolingly clinging on one single incident at a water drilling site, that was covered by Africanewsonline, BBCNEWS in Somali Language and Voice Of America in Oromo Language program. Since then, not a single incident took place. So, when did this "kafa" village raid take place?

A subsequent report made by a VOA interview with the engineer of drilling site and one of the wounded militiaman, indicated that the  drilling site was guarded by armed Oromo militias and the war started at Boji Kalaf borehole site about seven Kilometers east of Wachile town, in which the Oromo militias retaliated and simultaneously raided the Gharri towns of Hudet, El Laeh, El Gof and Amiko. Since then, there is not a single incident took place. So, when did this "kafa" village raiding took place?

Just read this stories  "We just had to jump from our sleep and protect ourselves. Because it was night, we didn't see who was attacking us, but we think they were the people called Gherri from Somali regional state.

"They came on foot, without vehicles, but they had bombs and missile launchers, and at that time we didn't have guns, only sticks to defend ourselves." When did this has happened? How is it possible for peasants to carry missile launchers and bomb, to raid unarmed villagers?

The facts of the matter is that the Oromo PEASANTS  were not raided by anyone but, they left their villages by their own free will under their leaders instructions, under false land grabbing tactics stating that they could not gain land by fighting with the Gharri people but, by becoming a refugees and then, them  requesting to be repatriated to El Gof and Laeh which belongs to the Gharri people. But, now when they realize that seems an unattainable dream, they began engaging in a propaganda war through BBC's Elizabeth Blunt.

" Wamo, his family and neighbours fled with just the clothes they stood up in. They managed to bring some of their stronger livestock with them, but they had to leave the weaker ones behind to be taken by the raiders."

WHEN WAS THIS HAPPENED AND WHERE?

It raises serious concerns, when a respected legitimate news agency like BBC NEWS has a reporter who involves in designing lies and propaganda based on factious rumors and publish it as if it is a fact, then it  takes away the value of BBC NEWS. Therefore, the information that has been reported by Ms. Elizabeth Blunt is lacking accuracy, and completeness.

We have noticed that all of her stories have been one sided and incomplete. this is not the first time that she reported on war stories, we all have learned about her outright lies and propaganda report of 1990 from Liberia, in which she was subsequently rewarded by naming a school after her. Based on that history, we believe that she has been promised a similar deal or paid for her bogus report.

So, we the Gharri are asking the British Broad Casting Agency to apologize to our people and also, remove such rubbish and disturbing fictional stories that were intended to instigate more commotion between  the two communities.

As the Following Document shows, these two communities have been fighting prior to and during British annexation of Eastern Africa. Also, it is one of the [eace accord signed by leaders of both communities on May 08, 1922. So, the notion of Ms. Blunt's report of Somali coming from Somalia and invading the Borana Land is nothing more than fictional propaganda.
