Boundary Disputes instigated by the Oromia Killil and OLF  by garyaqan
 

In the name of Oromia State and people a savage and brutal war has been waged against the peace loving Garre people of Libaan province in Somali State of Ethiopia. The brutal aggression has displaced hundreds of thousands of families, multitude of innocent lives, and their property has been lost. This is happening while the Ethiopian Federal authorities are watching, In fact in january 27th 2009, about 3 battalions of Oromo State Militia and Oromo liberation Army captured the town of Hudet killing 25 innocent civillians and 2 local police men. They were eventually repulsed by the Garre civillians who fought them valliantly destroying a whole battalion of Oromo state militia.

The slaughter of Garre people started in January 26 continuing until today. The Somali state has not helped anyway shape of or form. I am supprised that they did not take part in the killing of our people like Yussuf Haji did in Elwaaq, Kenya. The ogaden's who are the rulers of Somali state do not care about the Garre people at all. The Federal Government will support who ever wins. They have shown yet again, they will use the Garre people and soldiers but when it comes to saving Garre population they are always absent.

The source of Oromo rage is due claims and aims against the Garre land that they do wish to acquire. The Oromo's claim that all the wells in Garre land belongs to them. Their territorial claim has its roots in intentionally unresolved regional boundaries of the Oromia state and Garre town of Moyale and the sorrounding Garre districts. The oromo caused tension supported by the Federal Government absence instensified in frequencey and impact and were rported as follows.

1. January 26- a group of Oromo death squads killed a score of Garre in Hudet Woreda.
2. in the week of January 27th 2009- In Wachile the oromo soldiers burnt machines and took over Garre well

3. January 29 an Oromo contingent ambused a vehicle in Tuqa kebelle enroute from Yeballo to moyale killing a few passengers and wounding several.

4. February 2 2009 an oromo invasion army was repulsed near Goff, losing a 45 soldiers

5. February 5 2009. 3 major battalion consisting of hundreds of Oromo militia raided the Neighboring Hudet Town including police station killing 25 civillian/ They also killed 2 policemen and wounded one.

6. February 6th 2009. due to the spread of conflict to Gofa, 20 Garre civillians were slaughtered and 34 more were injured.

7. Saturday February 7 2009- the conflict spread to LAEI kebelle, where there was an attempt by the Oromo militia to raid Garre; However, the valliant Garre people overwelmend the Oromos and none were not to return. and loss of property was reported.

The aggression and meditated attack was so large that the neibouring countries reported it. They attacked Garre communities in Hudet, Gofa, Wachile, Laei, Malab and Arrero Garre villages. Reports from the fields indicate that the federal military and policy are caught helping the Oromos inhindering any Garre from retaliating. Efforts by the Ethiopian Government federal authorities in mediating is completely absent at best..

Unless, this contested areas are resolved and that the federal government stops the Oromos from attacking the Garre population. We will in turn attack the I am sure the violence will be protracted and many people will be dead. The Federal authories have the responsibilities and should give this issue priority and seriously follow up its resolution. There are no current mediation efforts by Melees Government..

Garre should worry about the renewed violence and the fact that 40 Million oromos are having an orgy of killings. We must defend our lives at any cost.
